Here's an acoustic track I wrote this week.

It's quirky, and I'm sure you won't understand fully the meaning behind it, but for me it's really special and I'm really proud of this effort!

All done on 9 tracks. Guitar and vocals recorded with Rode NT1-A mic. Some reverb, EQ and compression. Nice and simple!

Leave me a comment, share it around, like me on Facebook - www.facebook.com/thephilrobbproject/

You can also download this song here - http://philrobbproject.bandcamp.com/track/kimono ( yes I know you can grab it straight from this site but hey... You can't blame a man for trying to get you over to his Bandcamp page yeah? ) smile

Love the Rode NT1-A to death.  Shout outs to Australia since they are made there!  I like your tag of "Nirvana" - didn't catch the resemblance, but good call!

Would love to hear the meaning behind it if you care to share it.  This is a beautiful song and if all your WB tracks are an album, this is a great interlude between rockers.  The immense amount of talent on this website never ceases to amaze me.

Thanks man! I'm glad you are enjoying my tunes!

There was a moment this week where my partner was sewing a dress for my daughter and my daughter was being a real pain, pulling things off the shelves, getting in the way etc. So I picked up the acoustic to "distract" her. All of a sudden the whole idea for this song flew out. I was struck by the beauty and love that was in the room. My partner was smiling as I strummed away. My daughter was dancing along to the music. I realised how lucky I am to have two beautiful and special girls in my life. So that's the story behind the song. Inspired by love and beauty!

Good stuff man, really great recording/mixing. The panning of the guitar is really satisfying to listen to.

That is such a beautiful story!  I'm really happy for you.  You can hear the joy and love in the song.  Following you on fb and sc!

Actually reminded me quite a bit of Bush/Gavin Rossdale in a v good way. Great recording and mixing - simple arrangement, but nice use of layering, panning, & EQ!

Thanks very much! Bush back in 1998 was one of the best bands I have ever seen. Very powerful band! Thanks for listening!

aww love the story that came with this song!

I see someone else found a ressemblance with Bush! hehe (I'm commenting your tracks in reverse)

I can see the Nirvana quality in the chorus vocals tho
