Nomad

Half way there!!! A song a week for half a year now!!!!
I wanted to do something special to mark the occasion so for this weeks song I busted out some special gear.

The sega genesis (aka mega drive) was pretty much the first real home gaming machine I fell in love with. Growing up I wasn't allowed to have video games until i was in highschool. It was a really big deal for me to go to a friend's house if they had a gaming system because it was the only opportunity I had to play with one. My cousins owned a genesis and I remember falling in love with it over and over again every time I got to visit them. As an adult I always wanted to compose and play back music on the genesis's YM2612 sound chip. I have been in possession of a sega nomad and a GENMDM for a while now and haven't properly tested either of them out. it is time to  change that.

This song was completely made on my nomad and controlled by ableton with no additional synth sources. I wanted to really spend time learning the capabilities of my genmdm and the YM2612 chip with limited effects. I am really excited with the results from this test song smile

heart the Genesis forever.

Excellent beat, and the development is totally engaging--great melodies, and the variation is gorgeous.  Really resonant!
