Spui

My hearing is not well this week. I went to a performance of "the flying lotus" in utrecht last wednesday and my earplugs kind of re-arranged the inside of my ears. Now I am temporarily partially hearing impaired (yay) and have to refrain from doing complex sound design things for a while. Luckily, my piano is always there, never asking for a complexity of sound, frequency and compression or stressing you out with stuff like "stereo-field size".

The piece is an improvisation, paired with recordings I did with my little field recorder while driving in a tram through the streets of amsterdam.

Have a great pentecost weekend folks!

Wish you get your normal hearing back really soon! The piece is wonderful, by the way. Wish I could play the piano half as good as when you don't hear properly, mate smile

this is lovely. the field recordings go perfect with the piano. fav'd

This is really nice.  The piano is beautiful and the field recordings add a great ambience.  It's very soothing.

Halfway i could hear the piano break and footwork drums come in stomping any doubt out

thanks y'all!

Beautiful track.

Yeah, that's why I don't go to concerts anymore. Very atmospheric.

it wasn't the concert, really. I love going to good concerts. it's just these foam-based earplugs ( ), they're horrible for my ears. since I used them, something in my ear channels shifted to the side and now it will take some time to go back to normal. grrr. I will see if I can get my hands on some quality in-ear plugs for the forseeable future

Protect your hearing at all costs -- I didn't and now I'm partially deaf in my left ear.

just plain beautiful. I really wish you to get back to normal soon.
