WB07 Heaps Buzz (Atari 2600..ish)

By cTrix on February 19, 2012 6:07 pm

Well - here is something I was working on for Blip Australia 2012 before I realized it wasn't possible to run it on the real Atari hardware  (without some seriously modded code).   I maaaaay try and get this to run on hardware in the future, but it's literally days of work!! (I'd rather just move on to a new tune)   So this is not technically an Atari 2600 track - yes, it's the sound pallete and theoretically possible but this is "pre conversion" playing out of the tracker that links to my compiler. (tempo is currently impossible, it takes too much memory, high hats corrupt the 2nd voice)

It's been 4 days of Blip Fest Melbourne and I've met a ton of kick arse people - a number who are weekly beaters too -   amaaaazing times.  Especially people from Tasmania, Radilaide, Perth, Sydney, etc.   You all seriously rock!

I think I'm going to make it my mission to try and get tracks like this (and extended with more variation) to work this year.  Basically I need to call the audio routine mid screen refresh, bank switch memory addresses and include a better HH macro.  But that's heaps deep within the assembly code!!!
