Stranded Water

By Chris Dotson on July 20, 2014 10:17 pm

Pulled together a little more of the rest of my set-up to work with the patchblocks this week.

This track uses my LFO/synth/detune patches plus an overdrive/bitcrush thing that I started working on. I ran some sounds from the Korg EMX through the blocks (auto-pan/filtering/overdrive), and sent a few sounds back through Samplr to get a little rhythm out of everything. To top it all off there's a field recording buried deep in the mix. Hopefully not too deep that you miss it...

another great track. i like the timbres and textural palette you use and your sense of pacing.

All that textural bit reduction and aliasing smears the track nicely.

Thanks again guys! I'm enjoying pushing these blocks as far as they go to see how best to fit them into my set-up. Using layers of bit-reduction is a new trick for me and, although it's basic, it is a lot of fun. :-)
