Some of My Best Friends Are Loop Pedals

By Chris Dotson on October 26, 2014 3:58 pm

Took a step back to my roots this week, just for kicks. This track was made with a guitar, the Line6 delay pedal, the CsGrain iPad app, and a field recording. The only post-processing that was done in Ableton is a little filtering on the field recording.

The first 50 seconds or so is only the 'field' recording, which was recorded during a massive wind storm while one of the guitar loops was playing on the other end of the apartment. I was about a minute into the recording before I realized that it was going to pick up both the wind and the loop.

Thanks! Very much appreciated. :-)

some of my best friends are pedals too!

Exquisite textures!  That opening with accidental bleed is just perfect.  How do you like the csGrain?  Beautiful drone.

Thanks 1-0!
I really like CsGrain. The interface isn't great, but because of that you're forced to just play around with it and it creates fantastic textures. Using it on live input generates some glitches which are well received by me. :-)
