Fucked and Flashing Lights

By Chris Dotson on July 13, 2014 6:36 pm

Here's another track using almost only the Patchblocks. This track uses my DualLFO/synth/detune patches to create the basic tone that hovers in the background. I also sent a few sounds from the Korg EMX through various iterations of my filtering, auto-pan, and revised 'granulator' patches.

I used Ableton to layer the live recordings from the Patchblocks and a wave editor for basic stretching of one recording. No DAW effects besides compression/limiter were used.

I'm obviously still just messing around with these blocks, but am slowly finding ways to meld them with my other instruments. Thanks for playing along.

Thanks guys! These things are really fun to play with; I'm glad that I'm getting something out of them already that's enjoyable for folks besides just myself. :-)

Very absorbing piece. Nice amount of subtlety to keep me interested.

Awesome thick atmospherics. Love this track.

Great atmosphere here, love the sounds you get from the Patchblocks!
