Don't Move

By Chris Dotson on March 30, 2014 10:57 pm

This track is based on a file I pulled from my archives: a recording of an old electric piano I used to own, all static-y and over-loaded with extra frequencies to play with.

Everything in this track is based on processing the original sound in Ableton, and some other places long ago that I've since forgotten.

Settled nicely into this once it was running for a while.  Enjoyed the static like warmth.

Thanks! I was really tempted to draw the parts out a lot more to help that settling-in effect. Years ago I probably would have made this track 10+ minutes, but I'm trying to work on my brevity... even though maybe I shouldn't worry about it too much. :-)

I wouldn't worry about it  smile    For this format though, some people need to have their attention grabbed straight away.  Not a deciding factor though hehe..

Believe me, I know. Not my guiding light, though, as I'm sure you've picked up on. :-)

I really like this one, very cinematic. smile

Played nicely in the background today while I was working.

Very nice, feels like it could go on forever just gradually shifting the different frequencies. Great work!

I feel like I am descending into a sea of distortion and reverb it feel great.

its dark and cold, i love it!
