Breaking Out the Ol' Guitar

By Chris Dotson on September 21, 2014 10:19 pm

This might be my first track this year that uses a real live guitar. That's crazy...

The guitar got processed in a granular app on the iPad. I ran my patchblocks live through the MS2000 and also ran a patchblocks recording through Samplr. Ableton provided a little filtering and reverb.

Deep guitar processing going on.  Dig the first half and then the mushies kick in.  hehe

If you hadn't said it was guitar, I never would have guessed. Cosmic transformation!

Yeah homie!!! Nice one.... mellow as fuck...

Thanks guys!

I've been doing this kind of heavy processing for so long I guess I forgot how much it might remove that guitar sound completely. I was so focused on trying new things each week that I haven't resorted to using these old tricks. :-)

nice one! do you do this live?

this is reaaaally good! really really good!

Lushness!
