a quick sketch i did as part of TrackerFix 2016 (a local samplepack-based trackercompo that started off years ago in my local BBS art scene).  more info here:  http://mistigris.org/newmedia/tfix.html

all i really had time for was to do some noodling around with a single melody using an instrument fashioned from a vocal sample.  it reminded me of how freeing it can be sometimes when you don't have to worry at all about providing any supporting harmony

FREEDOM! That's how a lot of middle eastern and african music I've heard is (I can't pretend I know much about it), clearly there something to this approach. I LIKE!

This also actually  reminds me that when I was fresh out of high school my dad challenged me to write a solo piece for just clarinet and I was really overwhelmed by that idea (no support for the melody etc) but seeing you viewing that as a form of freedom I think I'm gonna have to go back 8 years in time and SEE IF I CAN FINALLY MAKE MY FATHER PROUD OF ME

i like the stripped down acoustic instruments with the bizarre synth or whatever line, would like to hear an album of that stuff going back and forth from minimalism to complexity

this is rad.  definitely like synthesized world music grabbing stuff from different cultures.  I agree with Catthew - middle eastern w/african crossover.  Very cool!

Very exotic vibe!  Like it, also really like the title!
