I didn't know what to do, so here's some live FM acid with my new soft synth synched to an MFB-522.

Ahhh yes.  Only just got the first 10 sec of this and it's off to a place I'm diggin' ;-)   This is the rounded and most chill acid I've ever heard.  Drum sequencing perfect too.

neat! you're making a soft synth?

Thanks for the comments, all! Starpause, yes! It's a 2-OP OPL style FM synth with a 303-like pattern sequencer engine. So far, the synth and sequencer engine obviously work, but there's no user interface to the sequencer yet. The pattern in the song was randomly generated smile. It will go public once I've finished the sequencer and find a viable cross-platform alternative to the ncurses library.
