Mentant

I spent all week on this one, and had more than a dozen good patterns on submission day. I had to quickly whittle the track down to its best parts and arrange it. Once I had that done I realized I had run out of time. So I uploaded it with almost no mix-down or mastering. While I'm happy with the patterns, and the arrangement, the mix-down and mastering absolutely suck. Case in point, the snare in general, and the snare roll in particular really make the track, but you can hardly hear the snare at all in this version of the mix. I went back to mix it down and master it. I also did some tweaking to the arrangement to add more tension and drama. The final product is something I'm really proud of. One of the best tracks I've made all year.

Another member of this week's 7:59 club!  Some nice crazy-intense percussion on this one.  I'm wondering if the pad might be a bit too loud--it seems like the percussion gets lost in places where it swells.  Or is there ducking on the percussion?

Your right again. I need to take down the treble just a bit and really lower that bass pad. I'm not sure if I have the compression side-chained. I'll Definitely look into that. Thanks again for your input.
