Impending Doom

Cubs in Game 2 against the Dodgers, and a Bears game. A little distracted today.

I like the reduced tonal spectrum in the beginning--there's a lot of tension in that restraint!  Nice resonant thonks in there--are you using Live with the Corpus plugin? Great use of the whispered vocal (or noise through formant filter?) as well.  To my ear, the higher-level synth lead dissipates the tension a bit, but that may not be what you're going for in this piece.

Very minimalist introduction. I think that serves a very good purpose. I think once you start getting the "bong-bong" heartbeat like sound, it may have been good to let that tail drone off in the background and start filling in the soundscape, because by that point I'm expecting to hear something rather than nothing.

The rhythmic violin-like strings dissipate the tension a bit. May try using fewer notes and see how that affects the listener.

Overall good work. The end of the song still holds together the main emotions of your song of tension and horror, but yet in a very different way. The end of the song has so many more rapid elements signalling accelerated tension whereas the beginning is more minimalist and haunting.

The intro is marvelous
