Bitwise Operator's Profile
Bitwise Operator has been on the go for the guts of 10 years. Over the years I've used Acid Pro 3, FL Studio 3 to 9, Reaper, Logic and most recently Abelton. I started using pre-made loops I either downloaded (on the incredibly slow internet of the early naughties) or got from computer music magazines and then cutting them up. Though I now use mostly either VSTi synths and samples I create myself, I still love cutting up raw waves so generally do my mixing and post-production editing in Reaper.
I'm using Weekly Beats as a way to push myself creatively. In the last few years my electronic music making has been very purposeful, with projects ranging from film and live theatre audio to releasing my own EPs and LPs. There has been a lot of experimentation but very little just for the sake of it, at least in tracks released to the public. So the music I put up here will be polished experiments; that is, music that is listenable and yet not so focused that it has to tie in with the concept of an album, for example.
Thanks to anyone who listens in. I'm very much enjoying hearing what everyone else is creating too!
