Wed, Sept 21, 21:30 - 22:40. Time for a synthesizer jam. In theory, I just logged an hour and ten minutes on this song, but that really wasn’t true. I worked on the song in between talking to people, watching videos, reading forums, and petting the cat. Most distracted 1 hour ever.
Thursday, Sept 22, 20:35 - 20:55. Some loop-based cheese. Needs some oomph, except Andromeda is complicated.
Friday, Sept 23, 22:00 - 20:15. I really liked my one-hour compo song this week and am wondering if I can expand on that for WeeklyBeats.
Sunday, Sept 25, 10:20 - 11:55. A slow start to the day. Going to see what kind of interest I can get in developing this groove and producing it well.
I had some interesting ideas for an intro, but it didn’t fit well into the house beats/feeling, so I had to cut back on it. I should save that and put it in a folder of sketches or something some time.
13:20 - 14:55. No rocket science really. It seems more polished and produced than usual, but I’m not sure if that’s an illusion or what. This song has more parts than usual: a software lead, 4 parts from the Nord, the Evolver, and the Andromeda.
One thing slightly different is that I did some knob noodling over the final product as I was bouncing it. One day… I’ll learn to do this all live or something.
I think some stuff in the production got lost when I was doing the finishing… kind of suggests I have a bit of a ways to go to hear these fine-grained details.
