Thursday, Sept 8, 20:30 - 21:00. Noodling around on the bass guitar today. Not really in a songwriting mood right now, but I’ll see what comes out. Thinking more about just practicing playing with sound right now.

Major. G E C-D G (I vi IV-V I)

Minor. G E C-D G (i vi IV-v i). Interestingly, E is not in the key of G minor, so this song has this odd tonality to it.

Saturday, Sept 10, 13:45 - 14:30 I don’t really want to make music this weekend, I am kind of tired and sick and would rather play games and laze around. I think it’s time to phone it in and break out the cheese for an hour.

Sunday, Sept 11, 13:05 - 14:15. Adding some live bass to this. It’s a very dark song (in both timbre and chord structure) so I thought I’d add to that.

Also, I tried a bass solo. Yeah. It was kind of hard, my fingers need more strength.

Overall, a lazy week, but even jamming out a bit is a good feeling.

14:20 - 14:30. Just after bouncing, I listened and decided to fix some bad production by removing one of the bass parts, EQing one of the snares better, and touching up some of the production. Made it more minimalist which also means less mud. That extra bit puts me just over the two hour mark.

Total time: 2h 05m.

Nice focus on the bass, and I like the retro pads a lot.

Like it.
