Total Loss of the Soul

By alonemusic on January 15, 2016 11:46 pm

Bit of a strange one. Started early last year after a long Korg Monotron Delay + Electroplankton + Nanoloop jam that got cut and sliced. Then I lost those files, but had a few loops, which I threw into Ableton's sampler and started rebuilding. Then things got a bit out of hand.
The whole end section was composed one sleep deprived evening.
Some of the effects started going wrong and the mastering went off, but I like its gritty charm. Toodles!

This is some groovy shizlang!
Nice contrast between the chippy bit and the rest.

I like the way the end keeps building, the vocal sounding thing is pretty sweet too

Really nice flow and beautiful chord changes. Love the use of chiptune stuff too

smile daww thank you peeps. There is also guitar hidden under that mess of delay making the 'aaaaaaaah' noise. I'm still I total Ableton noob tho... There is just so much it can do that I've not figured out yet..

Hehehe.... I like the sleep deprived evening sound!  I know it well ;-)  Follows a sweet journey.  Love the dreamy vocals echos (or whatever they are).  Great combo of sounds

The vocal part kills it, man! Everything's building slowly and steady, and although it sounds chippy and familiar, your track always takes new and unexpected turns. SOunds huge here in my speakers, indeed.

Loving this one !!!

Digging the bass and synth against the chords.

heart heart Thanks guysss I've been puzzling what the vocal part is, as there is none! I think its a sample of Nanoloop + Electroplankton chops and mashed so much. I used to do a lot in Logic, but when I changed computers I only took mix downs and no stems. silly me. OH and the clicky noises are my good buddy Simeon Smith (aka Do Not Run With Pixels) who made a sample pack of lots of vintage cameras. The more you know!

Excellent stuff! Great bendy lead line!
