One Frosty Morning

By Abludo on January 24, 2016 1:04 pm

I recorded the road around where I live on a frosty morning - you guessed it - and used samples of ice smashing that I recorded. All percussion apart from bass drum is ice sounds. All instruments apart from chords and bass are samples. I used birdsong that coincidentally fit my tempo, and it developed from there into a drum and bass song. Synths are TripleOsc. Made with LMMS. oh man, the ice drums sound so fresh once everything kicks in. wicked!

Nice mix of your drums/samples. Pretty neat.

Great shift of song from ambient to DnB. This gives me very "bright" and happy vibes. I think some more steady low bass would have really made this go. I really, really like the tambourine-like samples, the snaps, and the snappy kicks. I'd totally want to see these samples used again.

What a great idea.  Very nice sound, and you take it from field recording into a real set of sound sources.  Outstanding.

Nice use of found sounds!

foley-style percussion is so underrated. love the use of the bird songs too! such a refreshing track.
