Spore Sprinkles

By A Thorny Succulent on March 9, 2014 3:18 pm

Decided to go with the whole "minimal" theme this week. Also kinda dished everything out in the last couple hours cause I kept forgetting (I just finished working on a Flappy Bird knockoff called Farty Flappy Butt where you play as a farty flappy butt. If you want to listen to the music for that you have to play it muhuhwahwaha but don't worry I'll upload the track to my soundcloud or bandcamp soon if you don't want to do that).

I wanted to experiment a bit with polymeters for this song. The only other song I've done that in is one of my animal sound-inspired Korg MS2000B tracks called beez!?, and that track was more pieced together and tone / rhythm-oriented so it was nice to plan ahead a bit more for this track (although this track a bit atonal at times as well I guess). Featuring Dorpheus, this song is written in 3/4, but contain a 7/4 over 3/4 polymeter near the end (I hint at it around 1:03 and and it starts at 1:09).

Excellent use of polyrhythms; I'm really enjoying your stuff.
