The Dows

By *D*i*a*g*o*n*a*l* on July 6, 2014 3:33 pm

My man Zach wrote the root feel of the key track and I arranged the rest! He's a boss!

I feel like this one is a throw back to Digital Underground (vocally). Am I rapping?

Thirdly, this song is about my friend's band Mosshead... and about how they are really really good... like they should be naked, famous and on the radio... but they're not. It kinda tries to explore the mentality or mindset that keeps musicians from growing in that way.

Lyrics!

They’re not on the radio
I could never understand how that rings true
How can every single question get lost in the room
Cause they keep on getting better with each new song they bring into view

It matters not, the way they move the air
I sense they are precisely where they want to be
The Night Light is the switch that holds
A complicated answer to an Oakland dilemma

I’ve heard every single person round here state the interest they have in you
the alchemy on the walls
Lacing every drink in sight again
Turning bromance into kids
Dancing around in spite of it
Singing along without a hint
Bending the key and loving it

The tide was in but we just watched

They’re lost on the radio
I’ll remember everything after seven are spent
I'm hoping that they come for you
So we can dance around like it’s 96
I’d blast you on the radio, roll down the dows and crack the moon roof too
How can every single question get lost in the room
Cause they keep on getting nowhere with each new song they bring into view

Wow, those are some heavy kicks! Nice job, pretty neat to hear a rock feeling song that's actually rooted in electronica.
